See, Life sucked for the founders too.
Goalquest is a journey that was embarked upon by Shailender and Rohini long before the company had come into making.

Shailender Nagpal
Shailender Nagpal was your average student, who'd pushed a little hard during his boards to secure a 90% in science. His father, a lawyer, who was now amused by the field of engineering had been constantly pressurising his son to join engineering- which Shailender, being the average student, did. He toiled for three years in Manipal university, only to be left with a degree, without a vision for life. What was he supposed to do next? He was then an intern with no pay- yes, he had a degree. He tried to set his own goals, now. Upon research, he discovered that an MS in Engineering was a 'life set hai' choice. With help from counsellors and the US consulate, lo and behold, Shailender was now a full time student in the University of Southern California. Three years later, again, Shailender witnessed the job market. It was difficult to find equilibrium between his skills and the market's demands. He discovered a new degree, now- the Masters in Computational Biology. It was coming up at the time, but people didn't really seem to know about it. His father was still raving about Law/Engineering- but this degree seemed like a smarter choice.
And oh, was it.
The man who had not a penny left in (2001?) now works as a Principal Computational Biologist in STALICLA. He goes to golf every Sunday, and lives both in USA and India- highly appreciated by the colleagues in both!

Rohini Nagpal
Was too, just your average student with a BE degree from Faridabad. She tried to make ends meet by working in the area for three years, before she realised that she was incredibly dissatisfied with her life. She too, was pressurised into a 'good' degree- but had succumbed to the unfulfilling aftermath. She met Shailender during this time, who had come to India on a vacation from the States. He asked her long term goal, which was, in the end, to just be happy. She loved computers, but not the way India had taught her. With dedication and respect for a bigger goal, she studied and got through to Boston University for her MS degree in Computer science. Having opened her horizon to millions of opportunities, she was soon employed by Bose.
Shailender and Rohini both worked in the states for 12 years before moving back to India. Why? Because India, too, is the land of opportunities. There is no better way to teach your child culture, respect for education, and the magnitude of life than in your home country.
Everyone envisions a happy life. Everyone envisions a possible journey to the happy life; however, there is no one size fits all route to it. Did yours work out for you?
Most importantly- do you want it to?
